Good news, everyone! The NBA 2K13 official patch is now available on PS3 and Xbox 360. NBA 2K13 is scheduled for release on October 2 for the PS3 and XBOX 360 and will be a Wii U launch title.NBA 2K13 Official Patch v1.02 for Xbox 360 and PS3 The game’s soundtrack seems to be top-notch, and Jay-Z heavy, and the commentary will be updated to include information from this past season with hundreds of new lines of dialogue. Player models and movements are as polished and fluid as ever and the signature shots/maneuvers of players have been nailed down with pinpoint accuracy. Graphically, the game has been cleaned up and improved even further than last year, meaning it still provides the most realistic basketball experience in terms of graphics. While I was not able to test out the Kinect feature, it will be optional and serve as a new way to interact with the game.
NBA 2K13 will feature Kinect compatibility, allowing players to call timeouts, plays, intentional fouls and other commands. The pick-and-roll/screen systems are ambitious and will take a good deal of practice to master for any player, rookie or veteran. None of these additions were groundbreaking, but they did change up the system from last year’s title to this year’s.

There were other minor tweaks that I was able to see briefly, including the Sprite Slam Dunk Meter, which measured the impact of your in-game dunks, a new screen-calling and pick-and-roll mechanic and the new grade system for free throw shooting. Gamers can utilize each player’s unique skill set to maximize output and can view their player’s skills (and stat line) by pressing up on the D-Pad. With a simple press of the A button, players will be able to hurl a standard pass, but if players press and hold the left trigger button, they can also perform bounce passes that avoid getting picked off by opponents.Īnother tweak to the gameplay is the introduction of Signature Skills, which are assigned to players based on their abilities and add a variant to the gameplay. Passing has also been tweaked to allow for players to choose which type of pass they wish to throw to teammates. Overall, the shooting has been tightened up and feels much more realistic this time around. Shooting itself has also changed as players will react to different scenarios, such as Russell Westbrook noticing when I backed off and the AI just pulling up for a 15 foot jumper. With Wade, this resulted in the crashing layups he has become famous for. As I controlled Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat, I noticed that based on how I charged toward the basket, my shot would change. Shooting has also been tweaked to change the way player get shots off based on the all new collision system in the game. Should players wish to continue to use the thumbstick, a simple pull of the left trigger button or change in settings will allow them to do so. While previous installments have also allowed for players to shoot using the right thumbstick, 2K13 now utilizes the joystick for dribbling, allowing for more fluid, complex moves to be pulled off while driving to the basket. The new default shooting mechanic has been mapped to the X button (square on PS3). The majority of the game’s controls are the same, with one exception. Once the game starts, it shouldn’t take long for veterans to ease back onto the hardwood. In addition to the pregame festivities, the player introductions have been revamped to feature the backcourt and frontcourt separately and give the game more of a television-style presentation.
Each game’s opening sequence will feature all new pregame animations and have clips from real games, adding to what was a new feature in last year’s title. The first thing you’ll notice about NBA 2K13 is the change in presentation.
